JOURNAL 3: If You're Reading This, Its Too Late

The surprise drop of Drakes new mixtape If You're Reading This Its Too Late has left quite and earthquake of controversy in the music industry.  According to Pitchfork rumors have been circling that this mixtape marks Drakes separation from the Cash Money Records label.  But what does this have to do with this blog? Rewind to the first post, mentioning rapper and motocross racer Justin Bogle.  He was the topic for a review of Drakes new album at last weeks Arlington Texas Supercross race. I didn't discover the album until I browsed my favorite motocross websites and I just so happened to find an article on Pitchfork also reviewing the mixtape.

"Disconnected" Blog Post Response

In the film Disconnected made in 2007 I was very impressed with how long the students went without using a computer.  I honestly would have cheated on the third day.  Not because I don't have discipline but because being a student now requires daily computer use. I know for a fact I would never be able to use a type writer, and I don't even know where to find one anymore.  I was shocked to see flip phones and such pixelated games.  We are all so used to high resolution and such aesthetic digital styling it is amazing how far we have come in such a short period of time.

JOURNAL #2:What is Communication Worth?

Five crisp Benjamin’s are laid on a table in front of your face; they practically smell of the press they were minted from. What stands between you and an easy $500? Give up your smart phone/ cellular device for a whole month.

JOURNAL 1: MY PLAYLIST

Highly Overdue by Pak X Emh
2014

Highly Overdue by Pak X Emh

vurb moto & community reaction

The album Highly Over due by the group Pak X Emh is an important album to me because the members of the group are very closely involved with the motocross industry. One member with the alias Justin Lucas actually has a Monster Energy Supercross title to his resume. His name is Justin Bogle and is someone that I look up to. He has a positive attitude and a hardworking personality. He has impressed many critics in our sport with on the bike talent as well as off the bike talent. He has great lyrics and musical talent. This album the week it debuted was as high as no.2 on the iTunes best sellers list. That list included top artists like Rick Ross and Lil Wayne. No matter what genre of music you prefer, anyone can agree it is very impressive that a private record made in spare time by a professional athlete is impressive. What stands out the most to me are his lyrics and beats which always motivate me to achieve the most I can and do the best to my ability 100% of the time.
